Future Artists Live Creative Co-op / RSA Presents -

'Lets all eat a bit of creative cake - and discuss the art of making industry creative'

Thursday 7th July, 11am till 1pm, 2011

30 places by BOOKING only!

We would like to welcome you with open arms to a very special event, taking place during the Manchester International Festival, but in no way connected! So if you are in town on the 7th of July, why not join us at the Portico Library and Gallery for a spot of tea and homemade cake for a discussion on how to make 'industry more creative'

The format of the event will be unique. Part formal discussion, part break out unconference, facilitated by the Future Artists Live Creative Co-op.

Format to be two speakers - 10 / 15 minutes each; crowd sourced from our network*.

Speaker 1: one to cover 'the business of creativity', a creative type looking at how they monetise and strategise around their talent as an individual, and the inherent difficulties that brings, a real world case study.

Speaker 2:  to examine 'the creativity of business'.  How to use creativity to innovate and prosper.
Is there something really interesting to be found in what role creative thinking (or indeed serendipity) has to play in everything from songwriting and film making to discovering Penicillin and designing a vacuum cleaner, and discoveries in science. Once again how did this creative business thrive, an original successful case study.

(*what is crowd sourcing from a network, well once our intentions are clear, using you, our network and the RSA, we will find the relevant parties to deliver the case studies, using twitter @futureartists and hashtag #FALIVE, participants can help create the event, and introduce people that maybe should be talking/sharing, its all part of using creativity as a business solution.)

Then a half an hour unconference - Which could examine things from both sides - how do we conjure inspiration, what to do when the ideas dry up, through to the other end of the spectrum on how do we identify our market, and create USP's. Is it 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration in both cases? and how can this be funded or encouraged in the current economic climate.
So would you like to be part of the new wave of industry tuned in to creativity as a business solution, or a creative trying to get ahead in business, if so book your FREE ticket above. The event runs from 11am until 1pm.

If you are a member of the RSA please request a ticket code from Vivienne.Long-Ferguson@rsa.org.uk

If you are a member of the Future Artists Live creative co-op a code will be sent to you, or e-mail Mark.ashmore@futureartists.co.uk

Not a member of either organisation, e-mail mark.ashmore@futureartists.co.uk and tell us what you could do to add value and insperation to the unconference.

Or support the creative co-op by donating to our crowd funding campaign to help Future Artists Live Creative Co-op run career advice drop ins in Hulme and Salford through 2011/12, put on free educational events to our community and spread the ethos of our unique Creative Co-op, this can be done via a special ticket above.
The event was created via collaboration of 3 parties The Portico Library, the Royal Society of Arts, and from an idea by Future Artists Live Creative Co-op.
